'After a lingering and painful illness Mrs. Catharine Shambaugh Spade was called to her reward on July 27. Mother Spade was born September 13, 1822. She was united in marriage in 1840 to Noah Spade. She was the mother of 12 children, 5 of whom survive their arents. During her last hours upoun earth she endured much pain and suffering, with christian fortitude, ever prepared for the final summons. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church for 35 years and in the honr of deato a devouh chrishian. Services were held at her late home and interment in the Shambaugh cemetery on Monday July 29; when many friends and neighbors took a parting look upon another that has passed terough a world of sorrow and tears. One by one we are gathered to our eternal home and as each passes over a warning should be taken.
